ECHA Releases 2013 REACH Registration Numbers

ECHA has reported over 2000 substances have been identified for registration for the 2013 deadline. At the end of 2011, ECHA released a survey to better gauge the phase-in substances that will be registered by the 2013 deadline. This deadline is to ensure that companies that manufacture or import phase-in substances over 100 tons or more a year are registered with ECHA.
The results released by ECHA revealed 2300 substances have been registered. ECHA plans on updating the list on a monthly basis and encourages those companies that have yet to register their substances to do so before the May 31, 2013 deadline. Any potential registrants can check the list of registered substances to see if any of their possible substances already exist on the list. This list is also helpful for any downstream users to know whether a substance being used has been registered or expected to be registered by the 2013 deadline. It will be interesting to see how large this list will grow by the time the deadline rolls around.
