With environmental regulations being introduced and revised as fast as technology is changing, sometimes it can be hard to keep track of all of them. The introduction of RoHS marked a significant milestone in the way that countries enforced considerable restrictions on particular hazardous substances; however the origins of RoHS were being discussed 15 years prior to its 2003 introduction.
